Due to the overwhelming response by fans, Akron Comicon is expanding to a two day show. The 2014 show is scheduled to return to The University of Akron’s Quaker Station on Saturday and Sunday, November 8th and 9th.

This year we will be celebrating two milestones in comic history: the 75th anniversary of everyone’s favorite Dark Knight Detective; and the 75th year of the House of Ideas—Marvel Comics!

So don’t forget to mark your calendars for the extended event. The Quaker Station is located at 135 S. Broadway in Akron, Ohio. The show opens on Saturday at 10am and close at 6pm. Sunday hours will be 11am to 5pm. General admission tickets are $10. A 2-day pass is $15. Kids 13 years and younger are free. Parking deck and surface lot parking is free. We are looking forward to seeing you at Akron Comicon!

Join us this Fall to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Marvel Comics with one of the pioneers of the Golden Age of Comics—ALLEN BELLMAN!

Allen was born in Manhattan and studied at the High School of Industrial Arts. He eventually became a staff artist at Timely during the Golden Age of comics. Timely Comics is the 1940s comic-book publishing company that would eventually become Marvel Comics.

As a teenager, Allen did the backgrounds for Syd Shores' Captain America in 1942, and eventually penciled and inked titles such as: The Patriot, The Destroyer, The Human Torch, Jap Buster Johnson and Jet Dixon of the Space Squadron, All Winners Comics, Marvel Mystery Comics, Sub-Mariner Comics, Young Allies and more.

Allen will share his experiences in a special panel presentation so don’t miss it!
