Hero Initiative

What is the Hero Initiative?

The Hero Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping comic book creators, writers and artists in need.

Founded by a group of comic book and trade publishers, it creates a financial safety net for comic creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for life essentials and an avenue back into paying work. Since inception, the Hero Initiative has been fortunate enough to benefit creators with more than $1 million worth of aid through donor contributions.

How You Can Help Creators

Please stop by the Hero Initiative table during your visit to the Akron Comicon for more information, or to make a donation.

We hope you consider giving a little something back to the creators who’ve provided us with endless entertainment.

Exhibitors ... Assemble

Are you a comic shop or independent dealer looking to set up shop for the weekend? How about a creator, organization or club looking to expand your reach? No matter what your marketing and promotional goals are, the Akron Comicon has the right exhibitor space for you.

Keep in mind a floor plan doesn’t have an infinite number of square footage. Don’t be left out. Reserve your spot at the show today.

Be Part of The Action

The Avengers, the Justice League, the X-Men – if our favorite comic books have taught us anything, it’s that no one hero is as strong as a unified team of them.

The same principle applies to the Akron Comicon. As a non-profit organization, we’re always on the lookout for volunteers to help out in a variety of ways. Interested in making your mark? Please consider joining our talented team.
